Desiging With Feng Shui Colors
When thinking about the use of color in an office environment it is important to take a few moments and identify what type of emotion is associated with the business. Knowing more about feng shui colors can help an interior decorator or a business owner decide how people visiting the business should feel and create an environment that spells success right from the start.
What a tone can tell you and what type of energy it has the capacity to release into the world is intense. Take the color pink for example. Related to the element of Fire it can also be thought of as a symbol of the emotion, love. One of the best uses of the color pink is in flower arrangements and accessories such as pillows.
If the business is a modeling agency the choices must be very different than if the business is an insurance brokerage. In each office, the business owner can expect to have people visiting the office frequently. How the space looks and feels is critical to a successful first impression. For an insurance broker a Fire element choice of red or hot pink could spell disaster. But for a modeling agency the choices could certainly lead to phenomenal success.
If clarity and being precise are important to this college freshman, than she would probably do better choosing tones associated with Metal. White and grey hues needn't be dull but can be very effective in helping her get down to work and stay away from day dreaming. When people understand the deep effect that tone and hue can have on their emotions they can make choices that work for and not against them.
A dorm room accessorized in hues of Metal doesn't have to feel cold and dull. Hot pink flowers can add a touch of the color the freshman loves. Her parents could brighten her day or help her celebrate a big accomplishment by sending her a periodic bouquet to brighten her space and add a rewarding element to her study room.
Likewise, walking through the door to a room that was decorated solely in blue and black tones may easily make one feel that the atmosphere was a little cold and even watery in nature. If the room was supposed to be in an environment that should elicit hope and happiness the choice of color may have the opposite effect.
People can learn a lot from using color effectively. Knowing how the association of feng shui colors affect mood can help a student prepare for success rather than become distracted during a college transition. The stores may be pushing hot pink this year when it comes to dorm accessories, but the smart student will analyze what they need to succeed versus what they merely like to look at.
