Discover Ways Of Acing That Job Interview
It is perfectly natural to be scared of a job interview. Many a time the prospect of answering questions unknown to you gets the better of any bladder. But instead of being worried to death you must relax in the knowledge that there are proven ways that are designed to make the process easier for you. If properly implemented they should help you land that all important job.
Be confident and calm. Whatever you do never fidget around with your hands or with pieces of paper lying in front of you. This unnecessary fiddling around communicates nervousness to the person interviewing you in the exact same way you would notice the anxiety of a person who bites at his nails when talking to you. There is no need to play around with your hands as if you are using a cuisinart hand mixer.
Whenever you respond to the person interviewing you make sure you establish eye contact. Eye contact tells your future employer that you are not as nervous as other shortlisted candidates. Believe it or not but this actually helps you cool down and unconsciously assure you of your destined success. In more ways than one calming down makes you feel like you just had coffee from a 4 cup coffee maker.
Be as funny as you possibly can. I do not mean go out of your way to be funny. If you see an opportunity to be funny make sure you pounce on it as swiftly as possible as this will be a good sign of sensibility. Funny individuals are hard to forget and you must begin to accept this fact sooner than it takes you to fail an interview. At least remember that everyone loves a good laugh no matter the circumstance, scenario or situation.
Having prior knowledge on the company is always an advantage. A time will eventually come when you have to answer questions with the company in mind. Exhibiting a certain extent of knowledge is going to make you appear as if you have been a part of the company for a very long time. So if they sell dining sets try to exhibit some knowledge about them instead of sounding like a chef doing commentary on the game between the Lakers and the Bulls.
So if you at least know something about the company this will make you appear to be more suitable for their purposes. In so many ways you make the company bosses feel like they have been working with you for years by the simple way in which you discuss business with them.
Always make sure you dress smartly for an interview. Well dressed candidates are always a step ahead of the pack. No one likes a scruffy individual; so ensure you stay acceptably dressed.
