The Transformation Of Resistance
Have you looked Resistance in the eye? If you're a human, living on this earth, I can assure you, you have.
Resistance poses in every possible disguise. It looks like exhaustion, sleepiness, illness, distraction, new interests, lost interest and procrastination. Resistance is your major block between where you are and where you want to be.
THE authoritative resource on the nature of Resistance and how to overcome it, is The War of Art, by Steven Pressfield.
Here are three gems, quoted from this inspiring book, along with questions you can ask yourself to gain insight into your own personal Resistance. I show you how you can combine Pressfield's genius with EFT tapping.
Take your answers and use them in Emotional Freedom Tapping. Simply say one answer at each tapping point. Go here for training or a refresher on tapping technique tips.
Pressfield says: Most of us have two lives. The life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands Resistance.
You must have had glimpses of your unlived life. These glimpses sometimes arise in the middle of the night, when alone in nature, or even when tragedy or illness strikes you.
The power of these moments opens a window into our possible future.
By answering the following questions, you'll gain insight into your unique brand of Resistance.
What would you lose if you lived your unlived life?
Why wouldn't it feel safe to live your unlived life?
Who wouldn't like it
Who would you be if you lived the life you dream of?
By tapping on the meridian points while answering the questions, You close the gap between your life and your unlived life.
Pressfield Says: Look in your own heart. Unless I'm crazy, right now a still small voice is piping up, telling you as it has ten thousand times, the calling that is yours and yours alone.
Take a moment to get quiet, turn your attention inside and ask the following questions.
What's in my heart?
What do I hear from my still small voice?
What is the calling that is mine alone?
Use what you hear as your EFT script.
Here's Pressfield: Resistance is not a peripheral opponent. Resistance arises from within. It is self-generated and self-perpetuated. Resistance is the enemy within.
Now answer the following questions to find out about the Resistance that arises from within.
What is your biggest enemy within?
How do you generate your Resistance?
In what ways do you convince yourself that your opponent is outside of you?
How do you perpetuate your Resistance?
Use all your answers as tapping phrases. That activity will help bridge the gap between you lived and your unlived life. This practice can align your inner enemy with your dreams - and make them possible. Use the phenomenal tool of Emotional Tapping to transform your Resistance and your life.
