Having a moment in one's life when a couple commits themselves to another is a solemn and happy moment. It is usually the accumulation of months of careful planning that is coming off, usually, as planned. Being able to join with a person with whom one has a deep love brings feelings that are overwhelming.
One of the traditions of married life, for the grooms, is having mens wedding rings put on their finger. This shows the world that they have married the girl of their dreams and are now on the way to a long and happy married life. It also allows one quiet 'bragging rights' that they are now ready to go on with a serious life, devoted to a wife and family.
One will often find mens wedding bands are a plain gold band with an engraving inside indicating the wedding date and, sometimes, the name of the bride. On occasion, those wishing something different will design their own wedding rings which are sometimes very unusual.
The origin of grooms wearing wedding band began in Europe where it was high fashion. This custom later spread until it is common place today. It can be made of any metal, however gold is the one will find most commonly used.
In thinking of a wedding one must not forget the cake. Often the bride or someone in her family takes on this task. It involves a great deal of planning and gathering of materials as well as looking for cake decorating tips.
Every bride and groom wants their wedding cake to be something that is outstanding. The first thing they must do is decide on colors which, of course, will match the rest of the decorating plans. The usual cake consists of layers so one must decide how many are needed.
After deciding on the kind of cake, the number of layers and doing the baking then one is ready to put it together. Tiers of a cake must be fastened together to keep them from sliding off. There are special pics for this purpose. Filling for the cake can be preserves, whipped cream, custard and other things. The outside of this type of cake is usually a butter cream frosting that can be colored as desired and is easy to spread. Using decorating tips one can then make a contrasting frosting trim and decorate at will. Many cakes of this kind have been just as beautiful as those coming from a professional baker.
