Ways To Celebrate Valentines Day
Valentine’s Day isn’t all about exchanging gifts, kisses and declaring your true love for your spouse. It can be the day to revitalize the joy of your romantic relationship. If you have been dating for a few months, perhaps it is time to tell him or her how you really feel. And if you have been together for several years, it is a good occasion to reaffirm that bond you share. What better way to do this than to to suprise your partner with a special home cooked meal..
You have got to plan ahead and let your imagination go wild. Get the setting right and being able to express your love wil be easy.
What accessory is cheap, readily available and the best at creating the desired effect?
Candles and lots of them. Use several colors and shapes for added impact. The predominant color has to be red, the color that is considered to be the color of love. Place them around the room for diffused light: close to the windows so their light would seem to come from out there somewhere, on the sideboard, on the desk and in every other corner of the room.
It’s going to be a long meal and a long evening, so the candles will have to burn a long time. Choose candles in small glass containers or dishes if you are concerned about wax dripping on to the carpet. Or if you are worried about so many candles and fire, put a few floating candle lights in a bowl of water together with a few rose petals. This way you can let them burn without worry: they will burn but nothing else will catch fire around them.
If you can’t agree with candles, then a good alternative is to throw some thin material over a lamp to create a similar effect. They have to be colored (white cloth will just tone down the light, but not add ambiance or warmth to the room), preferably red, but you can use any color you both like. Keep in miind that any material you place over a light might become warm, so avoid synthetics that might melt and keep to cotten or linen.
Don’t forget the aromatherapy bowls and the perfumed sticks. If you have been married or dating for awhile you should know his or her favorite scent. If you like the perfume of fresh flowers, pick a discreet bouquet of your favorite ones and place them somewhere around.
Keep in mind that dinner must be something you both like and has to last longer. So, pick different food types and a desert that seems appropriate. The desert would have to have some hearts or cupids design on it if possible. If you don’t cook, order food early and make sure it gets delivered right on time.
